The Mentoring Circles Programme began in 2016 and is now continuing with its second cohort of people from across the business. It has proved to be enormously successful, empowering people to achieve their goals, both personal and professional.
Participants are drawn from across the business and are mentored by senior staff members as well as external subject matter experts. They focus on seven topics identified to help them achieve what they want to achieve out of work and life, be it a promotion, learning new skills or getting home in time to have dinner with their family. These topics include;
- Selling my capabilities & Increasing my personal presence
- Managing a balanced career and life
- Leadership styles
- Negotiating what I want
- Influencing and Relationship-building
- Career Planning and Management
- Effective Networking
In its first year the programme had a pronounced focus on gender diversity, aiming to equip more women with the skills needed to gain promotion to senior positions within the company. Currently in its second year, we are focussing on the personal development of staff while promoting diversity. In doing so, we hope to foster new ways of thinking across the organisation, encouraging talent to shine and realising benefits for both the individuals and the business.
