Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC announces a partnership with the Wildlife Trusts, an independent charity made up of 47 local wildlife conservation charities located across the UK.
As the third largest voluntary sector land owners in the UK, the Wildlife Trusts collectively preserve and maintain 2,300 nature reserves across 98,500 hectares in the UK with the support of 800,000 members and 35,000 volunteers.
The agreement enables employees across Hitachi Capital to participate in ‘Wild Work’ volunteer days at nature reserves close to each of HCUK’s office locations.
Robert Gordon, CEO of Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC said:
“I’m really excited we are embarking on a partnership with Wildlife Trusts, whose values align perfectly with our own, and supports our wider sustainable development goals such as Life on the Land, making a real difference to the environment in which we live and work.
“By working with the Wildlife Trusts, our employees have an opportunity to play an active role in saving wildlife and wild places by helping manage habitats and green spaces on Trusts’ reserves.”
Peter Dorans, Corporate Relations Manager at The Wildlife Trusts, added:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Hitachi Capital and welcoming their employees into our army of 35,000 volunteers who make a vital contribution to our work for nature’s recovery.
“We know that employees who have the chance to spend some time in nature – connecting with their colleagues, learning new skills and making a contribution to their local communities – return to work feeling happy and positive, so we’re really looking forward to enabling this with Hitachi Capital’s teams.”
