Hitachi Capital has been busy fundraising for charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support and donated an amazing £52,000 to fund a Macmillan Nurse for one year. Fundraising efforts have included activities such as sweepstakes, raffles, dress down days, cake making, The Ice Bucket Challenge and taking part in The World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
All the fundraising events culminated in a Go Green Day on 18 March 2015. On the day Hitachi Capital increased the funds raised by staff across the seven offices and COO, Robert Gordon presented a cheque for £52,000 to Macmillan.
Macmillan's Area Fundraising Manager for West London, Lindsey Cape said "I'd like to thank Hitachi Capital for all their fundraising efforts. Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan's support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever. No one should have to face cancer alone and with Hitachi Capital's help we can be there for not only people diagnosed with cancer, but their families too, when they need us most."
Robert Gordon, COO, Hitachi Capital commented, "Macmillan was nominated by the staff as our principal charity in 2014/15.
It has been a pleasure to work with Macmillan and staff have been motivated to work hard to hit our target to be able to fund a nurse for a year. We were delighted to reach our goal with a last push on 'Go Green Day' last week. I'd like to thank staff for all their donations and hard work in in reaching this amount, and we look forward to continuing the partnership and raising even more funds to help Macmillan over the next year."
