- £118,000 raised for Macmillan
- Funding for a nurse for two years
Following a year of successful fundraising efforts for Macmillan Cancer Support, Hitachi Capital has donated an impressive £118,000 to fund a Macmillan Nurse for the next two years.
The fundraising activity organised by staff culminated in an event where Hitachi Capital CEO, Robert Gordon presented the cheque for £118,000 to Macmillan’s Executive Director of Fundraising Richard Taylor and local Macmillan Nurse Lorraine Barton. The group used the opportunity to discuss the future of the partnership and the support it would deliver to those suffering from cancer.
Macmillan's Area Fundraising Manager for West London, Lindsey Cape said,
"I'd like to thank Hitachi Capital for all their fundraising efforts. Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan's support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever. No one should have to face cancer alone and with Hitachi Capital's help we can be there for not only people diagnosed with cancer, but their families too, when they need us most.”
Robert Gordon, CEO, Hitachi Capital commented,
"Giving back to the community is an integral part of the culture here at Hitachi Capital. It is part of being a trusted company and builds on our core values of giving back to local communities. In addition to our donation, we have matched, and will continue to match every pound raised by our employees, so that together, we are able to make a significant difference.
"We are delighted to be able to fund a Macmillan nurse for two years. I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work, in both fundraising and their day-to-day roles. The hard work they put in to making this business financially successful means we are able to support causes that matter to them.
"We look forward to continuing the partnership with Macmillan and raising even more funds to help them over the next year.”
