Goods are ‘rented’ from Hitachi Capital with payments calculated on the estimated resale value. This puts the residual risk on Hitachi Capital’s shoulders while keeping rentals relatively low. Our operating leases reduce monthly outgoings, and can even provide off-balance sheet funding allowing companies to acquire their assets without it affecting gearing or return on capital ratios. Banking covenants should also remain unchanged.
