Contract Hire

How does it work?
The monthly charge is calculated upon the cost of the aircraft, the contract period, comprehensive insurance cover and the anticipated resale value. It also takes into account the service and maintenance costs, together with any additional services such as provision of a  relief aircraft (if applicable).
Under a contract hire agreement we absorb the risk of unforeseen running costs and uncertain resale value.

How is it accounted for?
Rentals paid are fully deductable against corporation tax. Aircraft under contract hire are not recorded as assets on the balance sheet, thus improving company gearing ratios.

Is VAT payable on the rental payments?
Yes the rental attracts VAT in full as it is a service provided to you

How do I claim the VAT back?
Every month, we will provide you with a rental invoice detailing the VAT, which you can use in your returns.

Do I have a cooling off period?
Yes, most of the facilities fall within the Consumer Credit Act provisions and therefore you will have a 30 day cooling off period [can you please supply?]

What currencies will you accept?
You can make your rental payments in Sterling, Dollars or Euros

Is the price fixed for the duration of the contract?
Yes the rental price is agreed up front and is fixed for the term of the contract. If there are any losses to absorb, we will take full responsibility for them.

Can I contract hire ‘N’ registered aircraft?
Yes but the facility will not be available for the next two to three months.

Do you have a helpline I can ring?
Yes the general enquiry number is 0845 838 7313. We will also provide you with an out of hours phone number for our maintenance company, should you encounter any mechanical or engineering difficulties.

What happens if I write off an aircraft or have an accident?
You make a claim under the comprehensive insurance policy.

Who pays the insurance deductibles?
You shall be responsible for any and all deductibles under the insurance, up to a maximum of £1,500.

Can I hire a used aircraft or a non Cirrus product?
Currently this facility is limited to new Cirrus aircraft.

Are the limits on my usage of the aircraft?
Yes, usage is limited to 300 hours per annum.

What happens at the end of the term?
You simply hand back the aircraft, subject to compliance with the documented return conditions.

Can I buy the aircraft at the end of the term?
Yes you can submit a sealed bid for the purchase.

What happens if I lose my flying licence?
You are still contracted to pay the rentals, in the same way you would for any other finance agreement.

How long does it take to vet my application?
We would expect to have a decision to you within five working days.

How do I go about booking maintenance and servicing?
You simple call the helpline number who will handle the booking for you.

Can I have a replacement aircraft while mine is in for service or repairs?
We can arrange, via the helpline, for a replacement aircraft on a ‘price per use’ basis
