Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance Appointed By Energy Giant British GasMonday, 10 May 2010Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance, one of the UK's leading point of sale finance providers, has been appointed to provide the nation’s leading energy supplier, British Gas with innovative finance solutions to facilitate sales across its boiler and central heating offering. Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance will provide a range of finance solutions, including accelerated payment facilities to British Gas customers across the UK. The agreement will allow the energy provider to offer more flexible payment solutions to customers looking to upgrade or replace their heating systems. British Gas is part of the Centrica Group and is the biggest energy supplier in Britain's domestic market. The company supplies gas and electricity to UK residential and business customers, provides central heating and gas appliance installation and maintenance and low-carbon and energy efficient products and services. Speaking about the partnership, Tony Calvert, Strategic Relationship Manager, at Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance, said: “Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance’s POS finance products will allow British Gas to offer their customers a faster, more efficient service, as well as essential financial support when purchasing high cost items such as boilers. Our market knowledge and strong financial position, combined with over 28 years industry experience, means we can genuinely offer relevant and effective support to increase order values and overall sales.” Paul Yates, National Finance Manager for British Gas commented: “We selected Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance to be our preferred credit supplier due to the company’s understanding and experience of the energy market, as well as its strong financial backing.
