Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance appoints new Divisional Managing DirectorTuesday, 20 January 2009Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance, one of the UK's leading finance providers of point of sale credit facilities, has further strengthened its team with the promotion of Gerald Grimes to Divisional Managing Director. Gerald has worked in financial services for over 20 years, working for companies including GE Capital and The Funding Corporation. Since joining Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance in 2007 as Head of Sales, Gerald has made a significant contribution to the company, increasing volumes by 40% and overseeing the implementation of new accounts such as Weatherseal, Zenith and Furniture Village. At Hitachi Capital, he will be tasked with managing the consumer finance team, supporting current customers and bolstering the division’s continued success. This follows a record month for volume of business in October and a 25% increase in new business wins in the past two months alone. Commenting on the change, David Anthony, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Gerald’s knowledge and understanding of the consumer finance sector, coupled with his proven success in managing sales teams, is a perfect fit for our future growth plans as we expand the business. As a company we are in a very strong financial position and we already have a team in place with a great track record, but Gerald’s drive and experience will be invaluable moving forward.” Commenting on his appointment, Gerald added: “I am excited by the challenge and confident that with the combination of our detailed retail database and years of experience we are exceptionally well placed to support our clients finance and marketing needs throughout the challenging conditions predicted for 2009.” With over 25 years’ financing expertise to guide its customers every step of the way, Hitachi Capital now has links with over 1,200 retailers across the UK and places great emphasis on the proactive and profitable support it provides to aid clients in retailing their goods and services.
