CSR and environmental activitiesWe strive to achieve excellence in everything we doHitachi Capital requires high standards of professional and ethical conduct from all of its employees, as well as its business partners and any agents working on behalf of the Group. Each of our business units should operate within the confines of polices and procedures which are consistent with our underlying values and principles as a business. 1. Professionalism: We are committed to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in consistently striving to meet and exceed the requirements of our customers. 2. Our moral standards: The highest standards of integrity, openness, fairness, reliability and social responsibility are essential for our Group. 3. Respecting the law: We fully respect and comply with the laws and regulations of all countries where our Group companies operate (currently UK only). 4. People driven: We acknowledge that our most important asset are our people. Our organisation, reputation and ability to serve our customers are only as good as the people we employ. Management's most important function is to attract, develop, reward and retain the best people for each position within our Group. 5. Community involvement: We consider teamwork both on a local and community level essential to the overall strength of our organisation. We wish to positively contribute to both the social and economic well being of those communities within which our businesses operate. We work in partnership with local charities with the intention of giving something back to the communities in which we operate. 6. Excellence in everything we do: We strive to achieve excellence in everything we do, providing a range of products and services that both meet customer needs and are readily understandable. 7. Environmental activities: We recognise that we all have a responsibility to consider the environmental impact of our business activities. We committed to ensuring compliance with relevant environmental laws, legislation and any other requirements, adopting practices that will protect the environment. Hitachi Capital aims to identify, assess and manage environmental risk by incorporating environmental risk considerations, where relevant and appropriate, into its decision making process.
The environmental committee meet regularly to discuss improvements and initiatives. Schemes implemented include a monthly bonus for staff that choose a low emission company car, guaranteed parking spaces for car sharers, tree planting and group wide recycling initiatives.
